  Well it's a long story with a good result. In the beginning of my sons Sophomore /Junior year we decided to get him more structured HELP for school.
  
  Help with Math as he was in AP Physics I, Help with reading as that is the foundation which will help him learn faster to be able to process the information they teach in school. He went to McHenry West Campus Public HS. They have a great team of teachers at the high school level Mr. Menke was his guidance counselor at school.
  
  We want to give him time to prepare for the all important ACT series of tests which were coming up over the next two years. After meeting with Pattie and figuring out a course of action my son was assigned to work with Mr. Stan on the math & science portions and Pattie and Ms Wanda on the reading. It was a melting of the minds between working with all the HS teachers using the D156 parent portal staying up with his grades and after school at Sylvan working on his home work. This is were the parents need to step up their game and take some responsibility. As unless your child is gifted student it will not happen by it self. In this day and age they are teaching things to our children I don't think we saw until college. I do know I was a engineer by trade and I did not have a clue about helping my son with some of his math home work problems.
  
  So in the end he ended up getting a B in AP Physics II class his senior year and graduating with the community and volunteer work at HS called the "Distinguished Warrior Award" plus carrying a overall 3.0+ GPA. And ultimately he was accepted into 10 out of 10 colleges he applied to so he had options.
  
  But the icing on the cake was that he got recruited by a private DIII school to play golf at the next level. So all in all a great success story of a common young man using hard work as a means to a end. Now it is up to him to write the next chapter in his life... without his support team all these years it would not have been possible. - Sorry this is so long!
